The Proclaimers commenced in 1966 and is currently Australia's longest running Gospel Group.
The theme text of The Proclaimers is taken from 2nd Corinthians, Chapter 4, Verse 5 “it is not ourselves we proclaim; we proclaim Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants, for Jesus sake.”
To anyone seeing The Proclaimers perform, three things are evident:
- the joy experienced by each person
- the fellowship that exists within the group
- the commitment and dedication to their calling to be a servant of God and a Proclaimer
